We’re delighted to share our article in the spring 2026 issue of Impact, the Operational Research Society’s magazine.
In “The Health Service Modelling Associates (HSMA) Programme: Where We’re Going, We Don’t Need Excel”, Dan Chalk and Sammi Rosser explain what makes HSMA different from a typical training course: associates don’t just learn new skills, they get ongoing support to use them on real projects in their own organisations - all free of charge.
The article looks back at how the programme has grown since it began in 2016, originally based on an idea from PenCHORD founders Prof. Martin Pitt and the late Prof. Ken Stein, and gives an overview of some of the impact HSMA projects have had.
